Child Care Aware® of Missouri has been the state’s leading source for child care information, referrals, and child care industry workforce development for nearly 20 years.
2017 to Current
Robin Phillips rejoined the organization as CEO bringing renewed energy, focus and strategic direction. The organization continues to raise internal processes and transparency, earning both Better Business Bureau and GuideStar accreditations. Strategically, the organization redefined service delivery partners for capacity building and training with the potential for more than 35 partners statewide. Strategically, the organization continues to provide service delivery that utilizes current technology while focusing on providing the best customer service to the population being served. The new strategic direction has Child Care Aware® of Missouri poised to expand business supports through new and innovative shared services while continuing to offer core services that founded the organization, T.E.A.C.H. MISSOURI and CCR&R services. The organization is looking to a future of diversified funding with a blend of federal, state, foundation and private dollars. Child Care Aware® of Missouri, through Robin’s leadership, is continuing to make an impact on Missouri’s children by helping those that help kids.
2008 to 2016
Dr. L Carol Scott acted as CEO of Missouri Child Care Resource and Referral Network (MOCCRRN), and provided leadership as the organization aligned with the national organization’s efforts to offer consolidated national branding for CCR&R services. MOCCRRN adopted the DBA of Child Care Aware® of Missouri while continuing to streamline and strengthen service delivery. Referral services were consolidated into one office providing statewide resources and referral. The organization continued to create industry reports, reference information and curriculums while providing services to families, child care businesses and educators, and Missouri communities. Child Care Aware® of Missouri continued being seen as a resource for statewide child care supply and demand data. Child Care Aware® of Missouri focused on achieving organization accreditation and being positioned to deliver future statewide contracts and projects through state and foundation funding.
1999 to 2008
Corinne Patton, the founding director, led the organization for more than eight years. She brought the T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® Missouri Scholarship Project to Missouri (T.E.A.C.H. MISSOURI) with MOCCRRN being the sole statewide offeror of this project. She helped the organization grow in funding, staff, statewide recognition and service delivery. The organization created industry reports and reference information as well as curriculums that helped child care businesses increase sustainability. MOCCRRN continued training child care educators to increase the quality of care.
1992 to 1998
Federal Child Care and Development Fund Block Grant Act passed. This required states to provide consumer education and other child care resource and referral services (CCR&R). Missouri Child Care Resource and Referral Network (MOCCRRN) was created to provide a statewide CCR&R.
